Urban Commute Diaries, making the city ride work

Been doing a lot of thinking lately and I may just be making the switch to commuting into the city on my e-bike full time. The idea of dodging bumper to bumper traffic, skipping the packed trains, and actually enjoying the ride instead of just surviving it... it's tempting and ohh I'm fallng. But then, city riding comes with its own thorns, cos there's potholes, unpredictable drivers, weather shifts, and the range anxiety that creeps in when I'm only halfway there, it's not just as simple as hopping on and cruising sometimes. anyway I've xperimented with a few things in hopes to handle the madness.
That all been said, does anyone here ride into the city core for work, how do you dial in your setup? and also how do you deal with storing the bike once you're in yunno office garages, heavy duty locks and what not

@Ebiker01 Nice! Going fulltime ebike is a gamechanger. For your setup, grab some punctureresistant tires, full fenders, and bright lights. For storage in office garages, definitely use two different types of high-quality locks (U-lock + chain), always secure to something immovable, and take off any quick release accessories (like your battery).

It's awesome you're considering the full-time e-bike commute!
I made the switch a couple of years ago and while you're right that it's not always a cruise, the pros outweigh the cons for me.
For setup, I've found a good set of bright, always-on lights at the front and rear are non-negotiable for city visibility.
Fenders are also a lifesaver for those unexpected showers or puddles.
As for range anxiety, I ended up upgrading to a bike with a slightly larger battery, which really helped.
Before that, I mapped out potential charging spots along my route just in case.
I'm also lucky that my office has a dedicated bike cage with keycard access.
I understand it's not available everywhere so you can also try using a heavy-duty U-lock along with a chain lock through wheels and frame.
It's an investment but good locks are worth the peace of mind and e-bikes aren't also cheap!

Ah, the freedom and chaos that city riding gives. For me, the important ones are having good set of tires for pothole battles and I guess a small charger? For storage, a U-lock and cable combo is my go-to, and I added an AirTag just in case.
