Funhang cruise control is stuck?

My parents surprised me with a Funhang e-bike. I think they bought it on Amazon, they wouldn't really tell me and I'm not so familiar with this brand. Anyway, after riding for a bit and then letting off the throttle, the bike just keeps going at the same speed, almost like it's stuck on cruise control. It doesn't matter if I'm going uphill or downhill, it just maintains the speed I was at when I released the throttle. Anyone else experience this with a Funhang or have an idea what might be causing it? I'm hoping I can find some insights and advice here. I don't want my parents to know I'm having troubles with their gift.

Seems like the throttle might be sticking or the controller's acting up. Some Funhang models have cruise control built in, so it could be a setting or a glitch. Try checking if the brake sensors are cutting power properly when you tap the brakes. That's usually a quick way to override cruise like behavior.

Normally you only have to apply the brakes to turn off the cruise control, I'd check the cutouts are working, by applying either brake it should cut the power to the hub motor. You should be able to turn it off in the advanced settings, though a search of their websites only turns up assembly videos. As it's a generic ebike, built to order somewhere in China, it shares most of its components with other ebikes. My Lankeleisi shares the hub drives, controllers, display, wiring harness etc with multiple other brands so you should be able to find the settings by goggling the display make and serial number
